My team created a robot that could build structures out of blocks for the Mechatronics course. The class competition was to build several structures in predefined areas with another team. The alliance that built the most structures at the end of the 9 minute period won. To make the competition more challenging, several random blocks had magnets in them; teams lost points if these blocks were used in the structure.

We designed and built 3D-printed mecanum wheels for the robot to increase mobility. We installed a track and grip mechanism that allowed us to collect and stack blocks vertically. A rake on the back was used to handle gross movement of blocks.

Fun Fact: Competition rules were changed because we outsmarted them…
